Because of Gold Ribbon Rescue’s dedicated volunteers, 146 Golden Retrievers found new homes in 2016. A new year is upon us and the counter starts over. The puppy that was a darling Christmas gift will start taking more time than anticipated, the older dog will be costing too much money to keep or it’s time to move and the dog can’t go. The reasons for giving up a Golden are endless, but thanks to Gold Ribbon Rescue volunteers, those dogs have a place to go.

If you have any time to spare, please think about becoming a much needed volunteer. There are many kinds of opportunities with varying amounts of effort and frequency. We will review the following in this session:

  • Hotline
  • Intake (evaluating dogs and facilitating their placement in GRR program)
  • Transport
  • Fostering
  • Phone Interviews
  • Home Visits
  • Matching
  • Adoption Follow-ups
  • Events
  • Writing: newsletter articles and dog profile stories

You will be rewarded with the knowledge that a dog got a new lease on life because of your efforts. We hope to see you there!
