Positive for heartworms?:
Extraordinary Golden Fund recipient?:

GRR number: 16-031

Type of Surrender: Owner turn in from Austin

Status: Available

Age: 6 years

Weight: 70.7 lbs. (ideal)

Personality: Blaze is a gorgeous Golden with a flowing red coat and he is now with GRR. His former owners with a growing young family realized that they can no longer give him the attention they want him to have.  They raised him from a pup, and the decision was a hard one. Blaze has a calm, loving personality, and craved the attention he got from his family’s 6 year old and 1 year old. In their home, he was mostly outside, but came in at night to go to bed.  He sleeps through the night, and behaves well in the house. He is well trained, following commands including sit, stay, come and down. Blaze has always been around cats, and his mellow personality shows through even with felines (now that’s mellow). He is a strong puller on the leash during walks though, so in the past his owners would first play fetch to expend a little of that Golden energy before the walk began!

The results of his vet exam showed Blaze to be in good shape, and as his vet said, “super sweet and in great general health.”

Blaze is extremely friendly, but is slightly shy at first with other dogs, since he has been short on socialization up to this point. After a brief introduction, he is their new best friend.

Easy going, friendly, trained, healthy, good energy level. What more could you dream of? Just look at his pictures! Blaze will make an amazing addition to some lucky family.

Ideal home: Blaze would love a forever home with moderate activity level, including regular walks and generous interaction. Older children in the home would be icing on the cake.
