Roses are Red and this Rosebud is budding into a red beauty! Miss Rosebud has lived her entire life as an outdoor dog on a property with goats, other dogs, and chickens. She was surrendered because she has a taste for the delicacy of poultry and may have indulged in a few “illegal” chicken dinners. Rosebud is a petite girl, very sweet but is also very timid and unsure of what it’s like to live indoors. This bud might take a little extra time to bloom into a beautiful rose but she seems to be adapting slowly to indoor living. Moving into an indoor home with her foster family, she has definitely been bombarded with a lot of new experiences. It may take some time for her to adapt to inside living, strange noises such as the TV, ceiling fans, etc. are all a little scary. She is very leash shy and not sure about riding in cars but she is learning. This sweet girl has probably never been on a formal walk.

Even though Rosebud is very timid she is starting to enjoy attention from all family members. Rosebud is even starting to smile! She gets jealous when her fosters love on their Labrador but Rosebud and “Cash the lab” have become good friends. She has layed next to him and put her head on him like he was her pillow. Rosebud’s personality is still coming out because she is proceeding with caution regarding her new surroundings. She does take treats gently but is not yet interested in toys. She’s very unsure about walking around corners into other rooms and sometimes needs a bit of coaxing to come out of her crate. She is potty trained and able to roam free in the house without any problems.

Ideal home:  Rosebud will need to find a forever home with a family who will be patient with her shyness until she learns to feel comfortable and trust you. She does well with other dogs although her interaction with cats is uncertain. She will also need training to learn to walk on a leash. She is a calm sweet girl with a gentle demeanor and will make one lucky family a great forever friend.
