Personality: If you are looking for a golden shadow, Toree might just be your perfect match! This pup absolutely loves to be around people. Toree will follow you everywhere you go. While you work, you can find him lounging on the floor nearby. As soon as you get up, Toree will leap to his paws, ready to follow you to the next room or go on an adventure with you. Toree is a skilled jumper and uses it as a method to express his excitement. So, when you stand up from your desk, he may try to jump up on you. With some guidance and patience, we are certain that Toree will learn to express his excitement in ways besides jumping.

Toree is fearful of sleeping by himself. He either wants to sleep right beside you or at least nearby. If Toree is sleeping in a crate, he must have people in his field of vision to feel comfortable. Otherwise, Toree will not enjoy the crate experience and will refuse to sleep.

You might be telling yourself that you could have sworn you took the chicken out of the fridge and left it on the counter. Well, you did, and the counter thief has struck again! Toree loves to practice his sneaking skills by snatching things from the counter and sink, so watch out. One look at this block-headed beauty, though, and all your frustration will melt away. How could you be mad at a face like that? Plus, his adventures will keep you on your toes, never knowing what could happen next.

Toree is very gentle towards people. He always makes sure to take treats delicately from your hand. Toree has also done excellent on the walks he has been on so far, showing excellent leash manners. And, when Toree picks up something he is not supposed to, like a shoe, he has no problem letting go of it once you tell him to. He can eat his entire meal without any supervision and sat somewhat still during his first brushing experience. In addition to getting along great with people, Toree has started making friends with his fosters’ other dogs.

Ideal Home: Toree is as sweet as can be, some might even go as far as to say his heart is as golden as his fur! Despite his sweet nature, Toree is still a student. He is learning how the world works and appropriate behaviors. He needs someone with lots of patience, who will be willing to train him. We are certain that Toree will quickly learn under the guidance of a loving person. Toree would also do best in a home where someone is always there to keep him company and to keep an eye on him. Since Toree has been with another golden, Leo, for the early stages of his life, Toree would do best in a home with one or two other resident dogs to keep him company. This is especially important if you plan on being away from home for periods of time as Toree needs to be with someone.
