Penzie’s foster describes her as fun, Velcro, cute and loves people. Penzie is a sweet, loving girl who is adjusting to life as an inside companion after living much of her former life outside and ignored. She’s embracing the warmth of a caring environment and is soaking up the love she deserves. With continued patience and care, Penzie is learning the ropes of being an inside dog and her foster family is filling her life with newfound affection and attention. Each day Penzie gets more confident. She is fascinated by her reflection, enjoys playing and gets underfoot as she wants to be as close to people as possible.
Penzie needs a loving and patient family who will take her places and help experience life as there are so many things that are new to her. She really wants to be showered with love and be with people as much as she can so someone who works from home full- or part-time would be ideal. Penzie has so much love to give. Meet Penzey. Penzey was living a life tethered in a yard with hardly any basic needs being met. Fortunately a Good Sam got Penzey and surrendered her to GRR. While she's only been in GRR care for a few day, she's already doing better and her sweet personality is shining through.
Medically, Penzey is positive for hookworms, heartworms, erlichia, and anaplasmosis. Thankfully, these are all things we can fix and are addressing now. Penzey weighs 51 lbs and needs to gain 5-7 lbs.
Penzey is starting to thrive in her foster home. She is very people-focused, trusts humans and is learning to accept other dogs. She loves lots of attention and petting, enjoys snacking from a lick mat and eats from a slow feeder bowl. Hopefully she will start to enjoy toys and playing ball soon. Penzey is timid and noises scare her but she's gaining confidence each day. Check back as we learn more about Penzey.
