Personalitiy: Boogey, or as he’s affectionately called, “Boogs”, is an incredibly sweet, incredibly cute, and super smart young puppy. He is clearly a GR mix, but who cares, with a face and personality like his!

Boogey came to GRR from the Austin Animal Center after being found as a stray.  He doesn’t show any signs of a previously poor life as he seems to love everyone and everything unconditionally.

From the moment he got to his foster home, Boogey has tried to make friends with his foster sibling dog and foster sibling cats.  He likes to play chase with his foster sibling dog but is very gentle and never chases the cats.  He is more interested in just saying hi.

While he’s not fully house trained, he has done incredibly well for such a young dog.  He seems to have learned the pattern of his house and while he doesn’t ask to go out, he does seem to try to wait until everyone goes outside every few hours.  At this point, he’s averaging less than an accident per day.

He is fully crate trained. He sleeps in a crate at night and doesn’t whine during the night at all. When he’s left alone, he is fine in a crate.  During the day he hangs out in the home office on a dog bed or - if he needs a break - in an Xpen in the home office so he can be close to his people.

His foster family cannot believe how quickly and well he has adapted to everything. Within one week, he was a stray, picked up by AAC, and then came to his foster home and nothing seemed to faze him.

Ideal Home: Boogey would do well in a family with another dog for him to play with or with a family that would give him lots of love and attention. He would thrive with a family that understands how to work with a young puppy and help him to be the best version of himself. He will make his forever home a very happy home.
