Type of Surrender: Scout is a return to GRR.

Status: Available

Age: 17 months

Weight: 53

Personality: Scout is a zip, zoom, fly and energetic guy, perhaps the reason his previous owners thought he was too much for them. They gave back up to GRR because they loved him (and he is quite lovable) and wanted him to have a home with the energy and resources to keep up with him.

When it comes to housebreaking, Scout has had a couple of small accidents in the house, but generally does really well. He also does fine in his crate, which is where he is left when no one is home. Although he's very active, Scout is good around children. He does jump, but that’s one of the behaviors his foster family is working on.

Scout plays well with other dogs. Since he’s essentially still a puppy, he has lots of energy to burn and has a tendency to get a little rambunctious. He does pretty well around the household cat, but it’s best to keep an eye on him, just in case.

Oh my gosh, Scout is sooooo good in the car that his family wishes he could teach their other dog how to behave so well! Initially, he pulled somewhat on the leash, but his foster family is working with him on that and he has made vast improvements, He is wonderful in the backyard without a leash. Scout LOVES to retrieve!

In the house, Scout is full of energy and plays by himself with every toy he can find. When it comes to eating, he’s a gobbler, so they have had to provide him with a slow-feeder. He sleeps peacefully through the night.

Brags and habits about Scout? Scout is quite handsome. He does like to destroy those toys he loves to play with so much.

Ideal Home: Scout’s forever family needs to understand that he is still a pup at heart and needs to play and play and play as much as possible. A family with a young dog for him to play with would be perfect. He could also use someone with the ability to add a little more training to his life. Scout will make a great, frolicking friend.
