Personality: Young Sammie sports a thick red gleaming coat that would be the envy of many a Golden. You would think that he was putting all of his nutrition into his coat, but, oh no, he is putting a LOT of energy into being a full-fledged Golden pup! Sammie became a Gold Ribbon guy since his previous owner is moving and could not take him along.

Sammie loves to give kisses, and is interested in everyone and everything. Because of his energy level, Sammie is a work in progress with respect to manners, and standard puppy training is in order. His intelligence indicates that he should be a quick learner with rewarding results. He is well house broken, but is not fond of entering his crate. Once inside his crate, he is quiet and attentive.

He has responded to meeting small and large dogs with a welcoming wagging tail and an expression that says “Let’s play!” Recently, he has encountered a cat and was curious, but the jury is still out on that score. He travels well and has already demonstrated that he prefers riding in the back seat of an SUV, closer to the driver, rather than in the very back.

His overall health appears very good, with clear eyes, healthy teeth, and strong heart. He received a thumbs up report from his GRR veterinarian visit and is currently recovering well from neutering.

Everyone that meets Sammie is immediately impressed. In his short time with GRR, Sammie has shown so much potential of becoming a truly remarkable Golden companion!

Ideal home: Based on his puppy personality, Sammie would be best in a home with frequent exercise opportunities like backyard fetch and one-on-one basic obedience training. More details will be forthcoming soon from his GRR Foster family.
