Personality:

Rosie is a mature Golden sweetie pie. Her previous owners surrendered her to a shelter for reasons beyond her control. Rosie has been adjusting well with her foster family. She is allowed to be free in the house and she hasn’t had any accidents so it appears she came to us already house trained. Rosie probably has a few more tricks up her sleeve but so far what we’ve learned is that she will sit on command. She does well in her crate but since she has done so well without the crate we really haven’t used it. Rosie is gentle when getting treats and that’s pretty typical of her behavior. She’s a gentle lady that doesn’t gulp down all of her food at once. She eats some and then has a bit more when she feels like it. She doesn’t go gulping all of her food all at once. Rosie likes to be groomed, she seems relaxed by it. She doesn’t seem very interested in toys but she is good on a leash.  Rosie is a good sleeper and she sleeps through the night. We’re not sure how she is around cats because she hasn’t been exposed to cats since she came to us. She’s such an easy going cuddly couch potato and she would also love to be able to snooze on your couch if you let her.

Ideal home: Rosie would do well in an easy-going calm household. She is a low key dog but she really loves attention and to be petted. Since Rosie is getting up there in age a home without stairs would also be ideal for her. We will be learning more about Rosie’s ideal home over the coming weeks.
