“Today me will live in the moment, unless it’s unpleasant, then me will eat a cookie.” ~ Cookie Monster

It is possible Jake might have had too many cookies, as this pleasantly sweet and portly gentleman can currently be described as the delectable treat. He is amazingly sweet and similar to the cookie, a little round. He is also irresistible, looks just as wonderful, and keeps you begging for more!

Jake’s adoring nature and his tolerance for everyone is a display of his sound foundation. He happily greets with affection, including children and the possible pretentious feline. His only aversions are his ears and tail. Although they are not his favorite areas, he is very gentle at displaying his displeasure by slowly moving away to avoid the situation.

Although Jake is refined and slightly rotund, he is still energetic. Walks are explorations to be performed with consistent leash pulling in enthusiastic display! He also shows enthusiasm for water, tennis balls, and with an eagerness to please. Not only is Jake enthusiastic about life, he’s equally excited to show off his trained skills. This gentle giant is a master of commands like sit, stay, come and down. On most occasions, that is.

Jake’s enthusiastic nature has sometimes lead him into boredom. In these rare occasions, he has removed shoes from their place and has paraded them around the house. In dire times, he has eaten the laces. Rawhides were the replacement and had prompted the “Competitive Chewing Games” between Jake and his foster companion. Occasionally, the resident cat will join in, but he doesn’t seem to fully enjoy the sport.

Jake is a delectable delight and is looking for the right family to share his life with. If he sounds like the right cookie for you, put in an application for Jake!

Ideal home:

Jake is an all around great Golden. He would do well in any environment, with or without children, cats or other dogs. He will need a home to help him maintain a healthy weight and to reteach the art of nice leash walking.
