Personality: Hattie’s foster mom had this to say right off the bat about this wonderful dog: “Welcome Hattie! She is my 6th rescued golden and by far the easiest transition I've ever had. She is happy, housebroken, and heart worm free! She climbed over two sets of seats to literally ride home in my lap, but otherwise she is quite well mannered. She is pretty clueless about walking on a leash (we will work on that), but she is great with my dogs and did fine with the others we encountered. She is a total love bug with humans. She is quite petite and has glow in the dark white teeth. I think there's a chance she is still a puppy.”

Hattie is so happy to have been saved from the streets of Laredo and is trying to make a good first impression. She’s gentle and submissive, doesn’t jump up unless invited. There’s been no accidents in the house and, therefore, she has the run of her foster home. Her inside manners are completely delightful according to foster mom.

It appears that Hattie may wind up a Golden with the gift of swimming. She has dabbled in the shallow end of the pool so far, without actually swimming a stroke yet. So far Hattie has ignored the only cat she has been exposed to. She has that funny little habit that many Goldens do of playing in her water bowl. Lots of mopping to done around Hattie!

Ideal Family: Hattie is a total lovebug so will need a family that will give her plenty of hugs, pets and kisses. Her family should be an active one that would include her in there outings so that she could get plenty of exercise. And Hattie would be wonderful with another dog.
