Winchester is a love, with enough energy to power a small city.  He is just amazing inside the house, hasn't gotten into any trouble yet --no marking, no chewing, and listens to directions very well.  Winchester sleeps through the night, promptly jumps up on the bed as soon as the first alarm goes off in the morning at 5:45.  He sat right on top of Arne this morning which was a riot.

When he heads outside, it's like being in the movie the Matrix.  You know the scene when the normal people are standing still and Neo is spinning at a speed too fast to see?  That's Winchester.

He runs at super sonic speeds, and every 10th step adds a leap into the mix, with his tail wagging all the time.  He wants to play SO BAD!!!  My entire crew has been total duds to this point, not being willing to engage in play with him hardly at all.  It's been a total bummer for him.  He jumps at them, tries to steal their toys to get them to play, anything he can think of, but to no avail.  Good news is that he takes correction of  “we don’t want to play now” very well and backs off.  He finally resorts to getting us to play with him.

Winchester needs a family who will work with him, and have patience with him as he learns the house rules.  He also needs a family who will exercise him daily!  He would be an awesome agility dog, and is a dog who needs a job to keep from being bored.

He is so smart, and wants to please, and just has so much energy he needs to burn off.  He has oodles of love to give.   He would love to be with another dog, but it has to be a dog that is young, who loves to play, and is tolerant of his antics.

Gold Ribbon Rescue's 14th Golden of 2017. Winchester is an owner surrender, and is an 18 month old bundle of fur and love. Winchester had been escaping his yard and for his own safety his owner felt it was best that he find a forever home that could help manage that. Golden retriever are known escapists and wanderers.

Winchester would very much like to sleep in your bed with you (and would, no doubt hog it), and he loves children.
