“What a lovely thing a rose is.” ~ Arthur Conan Doyle

Rose is as vibrant in personality as the flower is rich in color. She is filled with love, energy and an excitement for life that is unmatched by others. Along with her exuberant personality, she is also beautiful and gifted with intelligence. She knows her basics commands like sit, come, and down, and she’s picked up some new ones like settle, wait, and backup.

Beautiful, smart, and incredibly athletic, Rose is looking for a home that will offer stability and activities to keep her smart mind active and engaged. She walks well on the leash, but she tends to get excited about seeing other dogs on her walks. She can’t help, but be excited about other dogs. She enjoys the company of the resident dog in her foster home so much, that having a companion for Rose is highly recommended. Feline companions are okay, but another dog would be wonderful!

Rose needs to complete her heartworm treatment and is currently limited on her activities. As she is a born athlete, activity restrictions are a little difficult right now and may be a contributing factor for the need of anxiety medications. With the right home environment, consistency, and an active routine, the need for medications may be eliminated. Another possible factor is the frequent environment change, so consistency and routine are keys to keeping Rose happy.

Elk antlers and plenty of toys are also happiness providers. Rose loves nothing more than to chew on a good bone or play tug of war with others. She does well with kids, although older kids would be better suited for her type of play. Running, jumping and being active are all the things Rose loves to enjoy! Car rides are fun as well and she displays excellent car behavior.

If you’re looking for that beautiful, sweet, and intelligent athlete to complete your family, look no further than Rose!

Ideal home:

Rose would do well in an active home with a stable routine. Routine is important in giving her confidence and stability. Having someone home with her the majority of the day is ideal as well, at least while she is gaining confidence in her new environment. Rose has proven herself reliable in her foster home outside of the crate. Crates are not her favorite and she would prefer not to be in one.

Another dog would also be suggested, to give her companionship and to teach her the house rules.
