Age: ~2 years

Weight: 60 lbs

Personality: Roadie is a beautiful, blonde, adolescent male that came to GRR from Cameron County Animal Shelter.  While not much is known about his past, his future sure is looking bright now that he’s in the care of GRR.  He can be sure that his days will now be filled with food, treats, toys, companionship and love!

Roadie has been with his foster family for a short time, but they are quickly learning about his personality.  He behaves well in the house but can get anxious at times.  He was recently neutered and is also receiving heartworm treatment which limits his ability to exercise/walk for a while.  He hasn’t had any accidents in the house and sleeps through the night.

He has seen other dogs from a distance but didn’t respond and has yet to encounter any cats.  Like any young dog, he can jump at times, beg for food, or take treats a little excitedly, but is also a friendly, well-mannered, tail-wagging pup.  He doesn’t seem to know any commands, so it is likely he lacked training or came from a non-English speaking home.  He has yet to play with any toys, but it could be that he’s never had any experience with them.  Luckily, Roadie’s life will be full of experiences like this once he finds his forever home.

Ideal Home: Roadie is a sweet dog that loves people.  He would do well in a home that is willing to work with him on training and would be diligent about making sure all doors, gates, and fences were secured, as he may be an escape artist.  If you’re looking for a young dog to be your next family member, Roadie may be the boy for you! His new family must also be willing to finish taking him through his heart worm treatment, at GRR’s expense.
