Personality: Riley is a sweetheart with gentle, loving tendencies.  He loves to follow his foster family around the house and is very gentle with treats and snacks of any kind.  Riley LOVES a good grooming and is obsessed with his wire brush at his foster home.

Riley is still very energetic even though he is no pup.  He loves his walks and has great stamina when he gets to go outside and play.  Although he doesn’t “retrieve” in a conventional sense, Riley still plays with some toys around the house and does it very gently.  He has a small lump on his chest, typical for goldens of his age, but is in otherwise in wonderful health.  He’s always excited to be fed, but never jumps for food or when meeting new people.

Riley is a perfect house guest.  He has been left alone in the living area and kitchen and is well house trained.  Riley has even been known to swim, although noted, not so gracefully. Michael Phelps he is not!

Riley loves to be close and is very loving and affectionate.  His foster family calls him a big “teddy bear.”  He likes to push his head into you, really leeaning into it when being loved on.

Ideal Home:    Riley is a little skittish about being touched abruptly, likely due to the rough-housing of a toddler in his last home.  Riley would best fit in in a home with adults, or older children.  Riley would be a great fit in any family that is looking for a loving dog who will never leave your side.
