Natalie is a pale blonde Golden puppy with a delicate face!  Upon intake at the shelter, she had a variety of medical conditions, including demodectic mange, fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites.  Under GRR volunteer care, she is responding nicely, and will have a full recovery in short order.  Her case of mange is resolving well, and her great nutrition and medication is already healing her skin and hair.  She is now displaying her super sweet disposition to all comers, and having the time of her life in her foster’s home.

Personality: After re-acclimating to her new environment, Natalie is showing all the traits of a true-to-form Golden sweetheart.  She is energetic, frisky almost to a fault, and ready to explore everything around her.  Her excitement peaks when she sees other dogs, and she whines and sometimes barks to get their attention.  Natalie has quickly become close friends with the foster’s Golden, and she follows her foster around the house as any good Golden companion would. She is ready to meet and greet at all times!  That includes cats, but in their case, Natalie’s motto is “a chase is the best form of entertainment”, so at this point in her young life, kitties are probably off limits.

Her age-appropriate behavior includes jumping up trying to get eye-to-eye with new people to introduce herself and get some attention.  With time and training, she appears to be a quick study on proper manners.  Her foster brags that Natalie learned “sit” and “stay” in one day.  Not too shabby for a 10 month old puppy.  Housetraining is a work in progress, since it is clear that Natalie was out on the streets on her own since birth.

In the backyard, telling Natalie “retrieve!” followed by throwing the ball results in Natalie hearing “race!” and she promptly races to get the ball in her mouth and then races around the backyard in shear glee. Everything is a play toy for this young girl, including the brush when it’s time for grooming.  All that energy in such a small package. And when finally exhausted, she lays close to you and snuggles.  That energy is fully re-charged every night, as she sleeps soundly in her crate until morning, when it’s time to go at it again.

Sweet Natalie has survived her rough early life to find a new path to a loving forever home. She presents a Golden opportunity to raise a very special family member.

Ideal Home:    Being the proverbial Golden pup, Natalie’s mind is on FUN followed closely by doing what she thinks makes you happy.  She just needs the consistent gentle direction to show her what you want.  A home with time for Natalie is fundamental. With a forever home like that, the magic will happen once again, and Natalie will mature into a beautiful companion.
