This very fun and spunky two-year-old red-golden girl loves as hard as she runs! Even while on limited activity after being spayed, this girl shows her energetic side. She excitedly follows her foster humans from room to room and quickly jumps to attention at any sign of movement... tail wagging the whole time. She can also bound across the backyard in about half a second at the slightest mention of her name!

Minnie and her sister were found for sale on craigslist in Laredo. She went through a lot in a 24-hour period from being transported to Austin, getting spayed, and then being transported to San Antonio to meet her foster family. She took it all in stride while loving on everyone she met from the vet’s office to her foster family.

Personalitiy:This girl’s love knows no boundaries when it comes to humans! Upon first meeting her foster family, she immediately ran up and sat right next to their legs, tail wagging excitedly, awaiting her pets with extreme poise. She even does well entertaining friends when they come to visit her. She loves meeting new people!

Minnie does have a few silly little habits. She is uninterested in completing her basic needs such as eating and peeing when there is potential attention to get. Why go to the bathroom when she could get pets? Great question! She does a great job at holding it, though, and hasn’t had one accident inside the house. Also, sometimes she growls at her foster sister to try to back her away from the humans to get more pets. She’s learning quickly that this behavior doesn’t help her get more pets and we are seeing this happen less and less.

Minnie is crate-trained and excitedly runs into her crate when the humans are leaving. She also sleeps in the crate at night, but she’d much prefer to cuddle up with you! Sometimes she will cry at night to let you know that but will settle in and sleep through the night in her kennel. The only other noise she makes is a few barks when someone is outside. She is quick to stop when you call her name, though.

The perfect thing about Minnie is that even though she is so excited about any action, she is also completely chill when need-be. Lazy Sundays, evenings, hanging out watching tv... she is completely content laying on her dog bed right next to you and taking a little nap. She truly just wants to be where the humans are – action or not!

Ideal Home: Minnie would do best in a home with a family where she can get lots of attention and pets. She would do great being the only dog around since she likes all the attention. If you are looking for a beautiful, red golden retriever who is fun and energetic, but also loving and cuddly then this is your girl!
