Mac is a beauty, but he was turned into the shelter by his owners after he was hit by a truck. GRR to the rescue! He had multiple injuries and multiple surgeries, but right now Mac is recovering wonderfully. In fact, other than his injuries, he is in excellent health. Mac had an outstanding checkup with the surgeon this week.

Personality: Handsome Mac is being given tender loving care right now in his foster home. At first he was confined with a baby gait to a small portion of the house while he recovers. He really wants to play with the other dogs, but of course he can’t at this time. But he seems like he may be a bit afraid of the cat!

In the car for his vet visits he’s very calm, and even with all his splints and recent surgery he pulls on the leash. At this point, there is no way to know if he likes to play with a ball or swim. Mac sleeps through the night and is quite happy to be brushed.

Mac seems to have an average amount of energy and is very athletic, considering. He loves attention, flopping down next to someone and rubbing his head on them to encourage petting. He was a trooper during the week he was confined to the bathroom during his recovery.

In the yard, Mac likes to fling himself into the rosemary bushes and roll over and over, so he always smells like rosemary.

Ideal Home: Mac would probably like a home that had another dog, but he would be fine as an only dog, as well. He is predicted to make a full recovery from his injuries and will need a nice, big fenced yard to run around in. Even now he is fine on the stairs, so a two-story house would not be an issue. Mac is a beautiful dog and will make a wonderful companion.
