Personality: Whoever takes in this sweet, ladylike girl is in for a real treat. Lyla is a petite little thing, weighing in at a whopping 39 pounds. Her diminutive size is perfect for her aspiration of being a snuggle-bug lap dog!

Lyla is free to roam throughout her foster home with no crate to tie her down. And she is completely calm when roaming the house on her own. Perfect potty etiquette is another one of her many attributes. Another valuable and lovable trait is the way that she is happy and calm around children and plays politely with other dogs. She even plays gently with cats or merely avoids them.

She seems to be a bit shy around men but not in the least standoffish around kids or women. Now if the man in question is next to a woman, that works just fine for her.

Lyla doesn’t seem to have that certain retriever gene – she is not too interested in fetching. She’s not had an opportunity to be around water, so if she likes to swim like a retriever is an unknown.

Ideal Home: Lyla’s forever home should be one that appreciates a dog that likes to cuddle and that will happily provide her with oodles of attention. She would not thrive if let home alone for extended periods of time. Since she is good with other dogs and loves women, some of each in her new home would be ideal!
