Personality: Honey Bear certainly lives up to his name. He looks like a bear and he’s sweet like honey. It seems that Honey Bear has always been an outside dog and we imagine that he hasn’t been out on walks often or at all so he pulls on the leash. With a bit of direction on leash manners he will be just great at going on walks like a gentleman. Honey Bear is great while riding in the car which is a wonderful thing, especially if you like to go places and bring your buddy with you.

Honey Bear is most likely a mixed breed but he has a wonderful Golden personality. He loves to have his tummy rubbed and be loved on in general, his tail wagging the entire time. This guy will insist on being petted as much as you are willing to do so. He isn’t easily startled or bothered by loud noises but he is afraid of thunder storms. He may jump up but so far he hasn’t jumped on a person. He just gets so excited! He’s been quite gentle and just loves attention. We think he’s house broken since he hasn’t had accidents in the foster home. This cuddly bear is gentle when having treats, he’s such a great guy! He gets along with dogs but we don’t know how he feels about cats. He’s pretty calm in the house and he likes to nap.

Update on Honey Bear (07/05/16): This little Honey Bear has turned into a real snuggle bug. She loves to be close and to roll over on his back for a belly rub. He's an angel in the house and has no accidents. This being said, that first day in a new place he may want to mark his territory. A nice long walk in the morning preps him for a nice long long nap in the afternoon. Honey Bear is one of those Goldens who loves to play fetch and adores his "stuffies."

Ideal home: Honey Bear would do well in a home where he can receive all the attention he deserves. He is a sweet dog and has been outdoors for a lot of his life but he’s adjusting quite well to being inside his foster home. He wants to be with his people so someone that can spend time with him would be great. He’s calm and past that puppy stage so he’d be a good addition to a mid-active-level home. Wouldn’t you like to share your treats and take this fella with you to fun, exciting or even not so exciting places?
