Weight: 59.4 lbs, goal weight 70 lbs

Personality: Fairbanks has every feature you would expect to see in a young full blooded Golden Retriever- both physically and in temperament!

At this early stage in his new life as a GRR rescue, he is long and lanky, but soon to be filling out nicely, given the rapid improvement in his diet.  He has a beautiful face, medium gold fur, long luxurious ears, and a nice “smart” bump on his head. To top it all off, he has that awesome Golden personality.

As his foster noted, he is truly a “velcro” dog, wanting to be by your side every moment. He has good manners, and does not jump up at all, even when excitedly greeting your return.  He is generous with his toys, and not possessive at all, allowing the toys to be shared.

Fairbanks is house broken, and lets you know when he needs to go out by going to the door. Smart boy! During his thorough medical exam, Fairbanks tested A-OK except for heart worms, so he will undergo treatment by GRR prior to adoption.

It appears to his foster parents that he has had plenty of attention in his past, and has been taught to be well mannered and obedient. He is quick to let you know that belly rubs are much appreciated, the more the better.

To be sure, Fairbanks is well socialized.  He fit into his foster’s pack immediately and was comfortable with 6 other dogs and a cat!

Ideal home: Fairbanks will bring loving companionship to some lucky family. Ideally, he would be in a situation in which there was time for dedicated play and interaction, since he is so interested in people and other dogs.   More details will emerge as he comes to know his GRR foster parents.
