Dusty Bottoms (AKA Hercules) is one of the three beautiful goldens known as "The Three Amigos" that GRR brought in through a partnership with a Mexico City shelter. They were named after the Three Amigos from the movie of the same name. Besides Dusty Bottoms, we have Happy Day and Ned Nederlander. NOTE: The Mexico City Goldens have an increased adoption fee.

Personality: As one of the initial three Mexico City Goldens, this gentleman is out to capture the title of “best cuddle bug”, according to his foster. Officially named Hercules, and better known as Dusty Bottoms he has quickly won the hearts of anyone that comes near him. He still has some work to be done regarding socialization, but has made an impression with his foster that forecasts great future results.  Dusty Bottoms craves attentive “rubs” from anyone in sight, following them around to get cuddles.  He especially adores children, calmly bouncing up and down, acting silly to attract attention. His gentle, medium energy level is a superb match for a home with children. Since coming to GRR, his limited interaction with other dogs has gone very well, too. Matching his gentle personality, his behavior with cats consists of curious sniffing mixed with maintaining a respectable distance.

Given his earlier environment, it’s no surprise that learning canine manners is a work in progress.  He initially explored the foster’s countertop and begs intensely for food and attention.  He simply cannot believe his new cuisine, and devours it quickly, but he exhibits no signs of food aggression at all.  At this point in his newfound GRR life, he becomes overly anxious when left alone during the day, and even more so when put in his crate. These early signs of stress are already beginning to diminish, as his trust in his GRR foster grows. As a quick learner, Dusty Bottoms has had no accidents in the house to date. A rigorous schedule of backyard pit stops has progressed to the point that he has asked to go outside twice!  Going on a walk is a welcomed invitation to explore, and explore he certainly does, pulling on the leash to address each new scent.  Walking etiquette is high on his to-do list.

In his previous life, Dusty Bottoms had to walk everywhere. Now, he realizes he has hit the jackpot! He calmly relishes riding in the car, but would prefer to sit close to the driver, including sitting in the driver’s lap.  Whether it’s on the couch or in the car, when sharing your ride of a lifetime with Dusty Bottoms you will realize that you hit the jackpot, too. But be forewarned -  he will constantly shower you with affection in appreciation for his new forever home!

Ideal Home:    This outstanding boy needs a home with two- and four-legged companions of any age around all of the time.  As he de-stresses from his previous life, his current separation anxiety will melt away, but he will always need an outlet for his loving and outgoing personality. His foster has been impressed with his rapid socialization, but the process will need to continue in his forever home, which translates into providing quality time with his family members.
