Personality: Sweet old Colonel came to GRR needing a lot of help. He has certainly earned his “Full bird” rank through age and experience. He has a sore knee and skin and fur issues that should resolve with good nutrition.
Being a high-ranking officer, Colonel is, of course, fully house trained and behaves like a true officer with freedom to roam the house on his own. He’s very calm in the house and is fine on the leash, although he’s not up to going very far.
Colonel sleeps well through the night and loves the luxury of the big dog beds. In fact, just like Goldilocks, he has given them each a try until he finds the one that is juuuuust right.
Colonel is not the least bit gruff as you might expect of someone with such a high rank. His foster family says he is shy and sweet and has settled into his new “base” and already knows the routine.
Ideal Home: Colonel would do well with an older family who is looking for a loving companion, not a jogging or hiking buddy.
