Cagney came in with her sister, Lacey, from the Palm Valley Animal Center. She is very small and they both look like miniature Golden Retrievers as if a fairy waved her magic wand and miniaturized them. Cagney and Lacey came in each with a damaged eye, which had to be surgically removed. They are both recovering nicely. According to their foster mom, Lacey is a big tail banging, cream colored goof and Cagney is a dainty little red thing.

Personality: Cagney seems to be almost completely house trained, with only one accident in her foster home. She has her own bed and sleeps through the night in her “own room”, either a bathroom or the utility room. She is nice and calm on car rides. Cagney has obviously not had much training, because she pulls on the leash on walks, but seems to be coming along and is learning quickly.

She likes to chase balls and will even bring them back for more throws. She is happy, calm and sweet around children. She’s good at bath time and politely tolerates brushing in grooming.

Cagney is very loving and sweet and since her eye surgery, she has really come out of her shell. She is extremely playful and gentle. When she plays ball, her foster family says that she gets so excited that she jumps up and down like a rabbit!

Ideal Home: Although she has been bonded with her sister Lacey, she would likely do fine without her. She enjoys the company of other dogs, so if her forever family had another dog, she’d love that. But she requires attention and more training, so maybe a household with only one dog. She has barked at cats but hasn’t really had any interaction with them.
