Age: 7 years

Weight: 106 lbs. (goal weight is 75-80 lbs.)

Personality: Boogie is a big fine Golden boy that is now with GRR, since his former owners moved away and could not take him along.  Boogie was an “only dog” in his family, and, as can happen, has put on a few extra pounds over time. In his GRR foster care he is now slimming down to a healthier weight.

Fun exercise is the path to slimming down, and Playful is Boogie’s middle name. His former family included three young children, and he was super accommodating with their normal play, only complaining with a warning grumble when the play got too much for him. His large size became apparent with small children, since he would inadvertently push the youngest children over as they played.  As a true Golden, he loves the water, and especially likes catching bubbles popping up when he splashes around. Boogie gets along great with the two dogs in his GRR fosters’ home now, and loves being in a multi-canine home. He really gets into wrestling and jumping with both dogs.

Boogie’s personality is very loving, and he generously gives and accepts rubs and craves attention.  He is house trained and is so well mannered, he has the run of the house during the day when his fosters are away from home. This good boy is only fearful when thunder or fireworks are sounding off, and then calms down, given reassurance that all is well. Despite his loving nature, he is not a fan of cats, and could generally live without them!

Boogie is ready for his forever home to be yours. Boogie has shown his foster parents that he is a diamond in the rough, and continuing his physical and mental exercise, he just shines brighter and brighter.

Ideal home: He would most enjoy a forever family with one or more other dogs and plenty of opportunity for outdoor fun.  Older children in the house would be a plus, since Boogie loves attentive play.
