GRR Number: 18-078

Type of Surrender:  Owner Turn In – Round Rock

Status: Medical Hold

Age: 9

Weight: 53

Bentley was turned in by a family who inherited him when his elderly owners could not take care of him anymore. When Bentley was diagnosed with diabetes, his new family became concerned that they were not equipped to handle the care he would need on a regular basis.

Personality: Bentley is a super-sweet guy and gets along with everyone and everything, including cats.  He walks very well on a leash and loves, loves, loves the water!

Bentley doesn’t seem to be interest in retrieving, but chasing squirrels is his passion, like it is for so many Goldens. He enjoys being brushed. “Ahhhhh, that feels good.”

He is a good boy and has never counter-surfed or chewed on anything he shouldn’t. He has a very calm demeanor.

He’s very friendly with people, but so far, his foster folks are being cautious in his exposure to other dogs until they get to know his behavior better. In the meantime, Bentley follows his foster mom everywhere.

Ideal Home: Bentley would do best with a forever family where someone is home most of the time. His medical condition starting to be treated and someone should be around to care for him. His condition causes him to drink a lot of water and, thus to have to go outside to pee frequently.
