Elle
Grace... Princess Ellie Grace! My name is Ellie Grace. I was rescued from the
animal shelter, after I wound up there as a stray. I went to the vet for a check
up, and we found out I had low thyroid (which explained my hairless tail!)—but
luckily, I was heartworm negative. I also caught kennel cough from my stay at
the shelter, so I was feeling really sick when I finally got to my foster home.
But now I’m feeling great! I’m a princess now—and just look at how pretty my fur
is today! Oh, another thing that happened was that I had to have a little
operation to get “fixed.” Since I’m a senior girl, everyone thought I had been
fixed a long time ago, but that turned out not to be true. Was everyone
surprised! I had my surgery last month and I am all recovered now.
I’m a really good dog with nice manners. I settled into my foster home very
politely. While my foster dad is at work, I just snooze on my nice dog bed. I
don’t play with toys; in fact, I don’t think I ever had any of my own. I walk
well on a leash, too. When it comes to food, I’m very easy-going; you can put
your hand right in my bowl while I have my meals! I do need a little water mixed
in with my dry food to make it soft; my teeth are not quite what they used to
be.
I am a real “talker”! I groan with happiness when you rub my ears. I like to
talk in my sleep too, when being petted, when I want to go out, when waiting for
food. But I don’t bark unless it’s real important.
I’m not too bad about getting a bath. I don’t exactly like it, but I put up with
it. I am scared of thunder and lightning, though. I get inside as fast as I
can—and once inside, I lie down and shake all over until the storm passes
through.
I love people, older kids, and other dogs. I really don’t know how to play, but
I don’t mind keeping other dogs company. And I LOVE petting time!
It’s time for me to get a great home where I can live like the princess I am.
Would you like to be my forever family?
