Update 04/26/10:
HI
,
We wanted to share Rowdy’s life since
December 2009 when we adopted him.
Since then, he’s been enrolled in agility and passed the beginner’s course. He’s
a wonderful runner (except for when he sees rabbits on the trail). He loves
visiting his canine and human cousins in Houston.
Just recently we enrolled him in Level I obedience/Canine Good Citizen Class at
Dog Boys Dog Ranch. Only 1 out of the 4 dog students passed….and Rowdy was the
one!! He is now a Canine Good Citizen. We are so proud of him, and so grateful
for GRR matching us up with such a wonderful dog.
We’ve given him a professional name of Rowfred, but he goes by “Rowdy” to all
his friends. We think Rowfred sounds more sophisticated…j/k!
We’re not sure what Rowdy’s next adventure will be, but we’re definitely going
to keep up with his training…He has so much fun with it.
Attached is a picture of Rowdy at the Frio River. He had a lot of fun
supervising and keeping everybody safe. He doesn’t swim yet. But as long as he
can see the bottom, he loves being in the water.
Again thank you for everything that you do!

Update 4/16/10:
As we near our one year anniversary with Sunny, I wanted to let you
all know how well things have worked out for her and her forever family.
Sunny's queen of a big yard almost constantly full of kids and other
dogs. She's in and out of the house all day long, depending on where
her people are. Every week day she walks with me and my daughter to
school, where she waits outside for all her regulars to come love her
up. She is so well-loved that she has encouraged several families we
know to adopt rescue dogs of their own.
On a more personal level, she is peaceful, loving, and happy. One of
my favorite parts of the day is after we return from walking to
school: I sit with my arm around her on the porch couch (the only one
she's allowed to sit on!) and watch neighbors walk by. Both of our
younger children have found that a snuggle with Sunny goes a long way
in easing upsets and frustration. Of course, I knew that from the get-
go!
Sunny is in great health and looks fabulous. We ultimately had her
blind eye removed because it was hard to keep things from flying into
it, and it was weeping quite a bit. It didn't bother her one bit; in
fact, the day after her surgery she went out and caught a bird with
her E. collar on. It was a grisly picture, but we were happy for her
nonetheless. She is lightening fast and doesn't seem to miss her eye
at all.
In short, we're all happy as clams!
