Lady
is a sweet, outgoing 2-year-old who is looking for a forever family. Lady was
turned in to the pound by her former owners, but once we met her, it was very
hard to believe anyone could give her up!
Lady is completely housetrained and has never had an accident in our home. We
have yet to see her jump up on people, and she jumps only occasionally to climb
on the furniture or check out what’s on the counter. She doesn’t bark often, and
she does very well baby-gated in our laundry room during the work day. (She
doesn’t mind the crate, either, but currently her foster brother is using it!)
Lady is perfectly agreeable to grooming, and she even let me give her a bath
using the garden hose outside.
Lady does well with other dogs and always plays without being rough. She’s very
gentle around children and doesn’t even mind having her ears tugged—but she does
get excited sometimes and might overwhelm a small child.
Initially, she pulled a lot on her leash. However, with a prong collar to remind
her that there’s someone at the other end of the lead, Lady has improved
dramatically on walks. She is gentle when taking treats, but has been known to
chew a hole in my shorts pocket to get a treat out. (!!) Lady has some interest
in fetching, but usually one of our other dogs gets there first. Mostly, she is
content to just stay at our side and see if she can get a treat just for being
so cute!
Thunderstorms don’t bother Lady, and she sleeps well through the night. She does
like to be in enclosed spaces, as she often tries to sleep inour shower! She was
not crazy about swimming in a backyard pool, but we think she may enjoy swimming
in a lake, where she can gradually walk in.
Overall, this girl a fantastic dog. Truly one of the sweetest foster pups we’ve
had!
