Nicole...
Here she is!!!! The Belle of the Ball!!! Miss America!!! World-class Model!!!!!
Miss Congeniality!!!!!
Nicole has it all, and she is just waiting to bring those outstanding qualities
to her new family. Her lightreddish-blonde coat is silky and sooo soft, her eyes
are a beautiful brown with full black eyeliner, her expression is kind and
sweet. She is a petite girl and so ladylike. Her footsteps are as light as a
feather............
Nicole is quiet in the house with some vigorous moments of playing with her
other dog friends. Tug-of-war is a favorite (but not with the people... that
would be unladylike!). She likes cats, too, and will play gently with the one
cat who will let her (she leaves the other two alone—they don't want to play).
She loves her toys and will hold a stuffy between her paws while she lies on her
back. Very cute to watch. She will chew on a Nylabone or a rope toy and every
now and then she may put a hole in a stuffy, but you will never find her chewing
something she shouldn't. While I stitch up the stuffy, she first gives a little
tug to take it back, but then she sits quietly until I finish mending—and then
takes her toy when it's offered and shows how happy she is to have it. She
doesn't counter surf, and she waits patiently for her food and doesn't care if
you take it away from her.
Nicole is content to lie on the floor wherever you are and may rest her head on
your foot. She will also sit beside you as you pet her or rub her neck (that
feels good!), and when you stop, she lies down. Belly rubs are great, too! She
doesn't pester you for affection, but she sure loves it when you give it. She
stands quietly for her baths and all grooming. She sleeps on the floor next to
our bed and just nudges us if she has to go out or wants to get up. What a
pretty face to open your eyes to!
Nicole loves car rides. I love it as she sits in the passenger seat and looks
around, just like a person. When she has seen enough, she'll lie down. Like the
lady she is, she's wonderful on lead—she doesn't pull or tug, just walks quietly
alongside. She is excited to meet new people, but does not jump. As a matter of
fact, she wiggles herself into a circle. Another favorite of hers is swimming!
Zach, another one of our GRR fosters, will whisper in her ear and say, "The gate
is open to the tank, let's go for a swim!"—and off they go. What a hoot to watch
Zach talk her into it and to see them run back with HUGE grins on their faces
saying "Yay ! we got away with it!" Then they need a bath........ .more fun!
To show how smart Nicole is, she'll put all four feet into a bucket of water to
cool off. I don't know how she does it, as the bucket is small, but she does. Or
she'll sit in the horse's trough, and all you can see is her neck and head. This
little lady is a character! She will keep you smiling all day long.
Nicole hasn't figured out what the horses are yet, so she "woofs" at them a
couple of times if they walk towards her, but otherwise she leaves them alone.
She is sensitive to flea bites, so she'll need to be watched for that and, of
course, her flea preventive must be kept up to date.
All in all, Nicole is a pure delight, a very well-adjusted girl who will fit
into any home. Like yours!
