Like my name implies, I’m 100% pure gold… and a complete gem! I’m about 5 years
old, totally housebroken, and a real cuddle-bunny. I love to give kisses and
press my snout against your neck. If you think only girl dogs are affectionate,
think again! I’m the poster-child for affectionate Golden boys.
I have the run of the house and am completely trustworthy. I have never harmed a
single sock, shoe, sofa cushion, or paper product! I’m very smart and will learn
what you want me to learn, quickly. I’m curious about cats, but I don’t bother
my foster mom’s cat at all. I’m not a big fan of crates or baby gates, but since
I’m so good in the house, who needs those things anyway?
I’m good with kids, though I haven’t had a lot of practice with really little
ones—the girls here are 13 and 16 years old. I sometimes jump up, but if
corrected, I’ll knock that off. I’m pretty high energy for a boy of my age, but
definitely not a wild child.
I LOVE tennis balls. I will run after them and bring them back to you. I’m not
so good at the letting-go part, but I’m learning! I also love squeaky
toys—especially at night, just as my family is settling in for the evening…
squeak, squeak, squeak! So, you may want to take those squeaky toys away from
me, say, around 8 PM!
Speaking of bed, I prefer to sleep with my people, and I also like to be on the
furniture, so I can snuggle. I would love to find a family who enjoys that as
much as I do.
I’m a follower, not a leader, and I will follow my forever-family members
everywhere. I don’t remember much about my early life (I turned up stray at the
shelter), but I sometimes cower if you raise your voice – so no need to shout!
Like any dog, I need a family who will be patient with me as I learn the
household routine and get comfortable, but that won’t take me long. I’m very
sweet and good. If you’re looking for a gem of a Golden Retriever, I’m your boy!
