Lucy
is a wonderful 9-year-old girl who came to us when her owners realized they
couldn’t give her the attention she needed. Don't let her age fool you, though!
This Golden Gem has a lot of spunk and acts much younger than her years. She is
an opinionated girl who knows what she wants, when she wants it—and usually,
it's love and affection that she’s after. Lucy likes nothing better than to curl
up for hugs and back rubs, and she will reward you with plenty of kisses. She is
a “velcro dog” who is never very far from you. She has settled into her foster
home with ease, and we truly haven't found one thing we don't like about this
sweet girl.
Lucy is reliably housebroken, but she doesn't mind being crated. She has very
good house manners and knows several commands. She loves her toys, and can
usually be found with a stuffy in her mouth. In fact, stuffies accompany her
everywhere, including on potty breaks… and she loves them so much, she doesn't
even tear them up! She also likes Nylabones and the occasional pig ear.
Lucy loves everyone she meets, and seems to think that people were put on this
earth simply to provide her with love, affection, and plenty of food. And
speaking of food—Lucy loves it. A little too much! She is a bit tubby, but we
are working on that little problem with diet and regular exercise. Fortunately,
she loves to go on her daily walks, and she is a very good walking partner. She
gets so excited that she pulls on the leash a little bit at first, but she
quickly settles down and falls into place right at your side. Car rides are
another big favorite. Even if we’re just taking a quick trip, she jumps right in
and is ready to roll.
Lucy has several foster doggie siblings, from very small to very large, and she
gets along with all of them. She doesn't need to have another dog in the house,
though; she would do just fine as an only dog with an owner who will spend lots
of quality time with her. In fact, Lucy will be a wonderful addition to any
family who can provide her with the love and affection that she deserves!
