Dusty... One Sunday in late January, a nice red Golden
suddenly appeared in a Good Samaritan’s front yard. No collar, no tags, no
microchip, and nobody recognized him – but what a sweet personality! Calm and
affectionate, he loved to sit up a bit on his hind legs and give his new friend
a hug. Two weeks of searching didn’t turn up an owner – and so, Dusty came to
GRR.
Here’s what his foster dad has to say:
Dusty is just the nicest dog there ever was. He is easy going, playful (at
times—he is about 5 years old, and usually pretty calm), and the most enjoyable
dog you could imagine. He is friendly, loyal, and eager to please. He plays well
with other dogs, cats, and people. I’ve never seen even a hint of “mean”
behavior toward anyone.
He likes to eat—oh boy, does he! He is housebroken, quiet (barks only when
alarmed, which is rarely) and doesn’t jump up on couches, beds, etc. He doesn’t
chew or dig or destroy things.
The only flaw I can think of is that he DOES get carsick, even for short trips.
And like the lady who found him told us, he does like to jump up (more like
stand up) to greet you when you arrive home. I know that not everyone
appreciates a hairy hug, so I’ll work on getting him to wait for an
invitation—it shouldn’t be hard.
Dusty deserves a great home. He will make a wonderful pet!
