Bella...
Hi! My name is Bella, and I am staying with my foster parents until I find my
forever home. I came to GRR from the Town Lake Animal Shelter. Before that I had
a family, but they said I jumped up, barked, and tried to rush through the door
– and THEN they admitted that they got me as an unwanted “present” and they
didn’t spend any time with me! Can you guess why I barked and tried to run
inside when the door opened?? I am a little over 1 year old, and I am as sweet
as they come. How sweet am I? I have only been in my foster home for a little
more than two weeks, and I have already made one of the boy dogs I am staying
with fall in love with me. He smiles at me all the time. He lets me play with
his toys. He follows me everywhere I go, and we play together constantly. My
foster parents think I am pretty cool, too.
They do say I need somebody who will spend time training me, though! When I
first got here, I was pretty nervous. I would calm myself down by licking my
foster parents. In fact, my foster mama called me a “tongue flapper”! Over the
last two weeks, they have taught me commands like SIT, and I have learned what I
can & can’t play with. As soon as I figured out what they wanted, I became much
less nervous. I am very eager to please, and really want to do the right thing.
Just show me what you want, and I will do it! When you pay attention to me and I
get my play time, I am a very good girl. (Oh, and I am totally housebroken, of
course.)
I am staying with a cat and two other dogs. I am submissive to all of them. In
fact, I don’t care about that cat at all. I would do fine with other animals in
the house, or I could be an only dog—but if I am your only Golden, be ready to
play with me, because I have a lot of energy! I spend most of my free time
playing with my foster brother. When my foster parents are at work, I rest up in
my crate, so I am ready to play again when they get home. Without all that good
play and exercise, I would get pretty bored.
As you can see from my photo portfolio, I am really cute. Actually, I am more
than cute! As my name suggests, I am very beautiful. I am smart, too, and I will
make my new family very proud of me.
