Seau...Introducing
the new GRR Model, the SEAU!
Yes,
folks, we have one of the first ’07 models, the new Seau. The name is pronounced
“Say-Aw”—after the NFL linebacker, Junior Seau, who has been playing hard all of
his career. The new Seau model is a full-powered masculine sport utility model
that has been around for 7 years but is kicking off our GRR new-model year in a
whole new setting! He only comes in one color, a dark mahogany with just a touch
of gray around the muzzle/grille area. The Seau is one of the larger models in
his class, with a gross weight just over 90 pounds (slightly exceeding
manufacturer’s specifications, due to 10 pounds of extra exterior padding). He
spent his formative years as a rugged outdoor type, but true to his Golden
Retriever genes, he is really a plush indoor model who loves the attention of
the entire family.
As you might expect, the Seau’s fuel economy is slightly below that of other GRR
models. It takes 3 cups of food daily to drive this sport utility model to full
power with some backyard environmental impact (your mileage may vary). But, like
that neighbor of yours who likes to show off his Hummer, you will be in a class
by yourself with the new Seau.
Although
his running gear is large, he has a surprisingly tight turning radius and is
easily adapting to the in-home family lifestyle. As a sport utility model, he
has a high center of gravity and can easily rest his head on the dinner table.
Once in a while, he will also clean off the coffee table with his rear bumper
(our engineers explain this is a factory-installed optional duster mechanism
with a few kinks left to work out in the on-off activation system). Seau is
still learning what is his and what is ours, but he is a very quick study. He
was an owner surrender model that has now passed the 100-point GRR foster
certification test and is being offered as “Certified Pre-owned.” He had one
slight fluid leak the first day of new in-house life, but once he learned our
workday schedule, we have never found another drip on the carpet. One of the GRR
certification tests includes the kitty test. We are happy to report that even a
6-pound kitty can put a Seau through his paces.
Do
you need a large garage for this model? Well, he is not built for a crate. But
he can be trusted in the house during the day and sleeps through the night right
next to our bed. Once he bonds with your family, you will find it hard to do
anything without the Seau helping in some mode.
You may be wondering how the rugged, powerful Seau handles on the road. We are
happy to report that the Seau is very light on his wheels and easily able to
weave in and out of household furniture and moving people with one of the
highest “G” force ratings. On the leash, the Seau does pull a little, but with
that powerful engine you would of course expect fast acceleration. The
on-command “let’s run” feature is guaranteed to have you panting in the fast
lane.
As for the interior of the new Seau model, we have a dichotomy of features. This
hardy outdoor type came with a matted exterior trim that has been cleaned up and
cut off during the GRR foster certification process. But, he also came with a
Baby Gap tiny “T” shirt floor mat. Just a subtle reminder that this model is
really a big softy at heart. The GRR professional mechanic (vet) has done a
bumper-to-bumper, nose-to-tail check. Seau is heartworm negative, with a
smooth-running engine (heart) and good universal joints (hips). This particular
Seau will need his chrome (teeth) cleaned and we will be working to polish them
up before he is taken off the lot.
Is the Seau model a good fit for you? The Seau will be great for the large
family. He has the off-road rough-and-tumble frame and footing for any amount of
outdoor activities. He has the skills and handling to participate in all your
indoor activities as well. The Seau will offer the family a sense of security
with the look of a police K9 cruiser, the horn (bark) of a semi truck and the
plush ride of a typical Golden.
The Seau is a great example of the adaptable/adoptable GRR models available now
at this website. Contact your GRR Adoption Coordinator to see if the Seau is
right for you. Hurry—quantities are limited in this size and color!
