Sadie
is a pretty girl about 4 1/2 years old, turned in to GRR when her owners
realized they just weren’t spending enough time with her. They knew she
shouldn’t have to live out in the yard all day long—and they’re right! For the
life of me I cannot figure out why anyone would give this girl up. Sadie is a
bundle of love and a very sweet dog. She would rather spend her time with
someone instead of playing—though of course what she likes best of all is to
play AND have you right with her. She follows me around the house even when the
other dogs are napping!
Sadie likes other dogs and children and enjoys just sitting with you on the
couch all curled up in your lap (though she doesn’t quite fit!). She is on a
diet-and-exercise program and will need to continue that. She is helping by
sometimes leaving her supper dish to follow me around. Not to worry, at 90
pounds, she does not need to eat all her food. She is quiet even when someone
comes to the door, but does give a good greeting—almost too good. We are working
to stop her jumping up on people. I think that’s Sadie’s only bad habit… well
maybe that and her interest in people food. She grabbed a banana from me the
other day and started to peel it before I could get it back. However, she is
very good about giving things back and never gets upset even if her food bowl is
invaded by me or another dog.
Sadie will make a great family dog for anyone who is happy to have a constant
“helper” during the day and is eager to give her all the attention she’s been
missing out on. You won’t find a better or more faithful companion than Sadie!
