Hunter is the most adorable 90 pounds
around! Though he was turned in as a stray to Town Lake Animal Center, I just
know he must have come from a great, loving family with kids. He has settled
into our home of two kids and one other Golden quite nicely and just gives out
love to every member of the family, including our dog Ranger! He is notorious
for bathing Ranger—the two of them will spend ages licking each other on the
body, ears, neck. Ranger just soaks it up, literally, and enjoys every bit of
it. Hunter, himself, loves a good bath and will sit in the tub eagerly awaiting
a nice soapy scrub, followed by an invigorating brush-out. He loves to lie down
beside you and snuggle on the couch or floor… and he also likes to sleep in past
7 in the morning. He plays with toys great and loves to retrieve balls. Hunter
clearly has had some training and responds well to COME, SIT, and STAY. He can
get a bit excited when he’s greeting you or asking for attention and hasn’t
quite learned not to jump up, but he is responding well to training to correct
this.
Hunter loves to be around people and is great with kids! He greets our children
in the morning by clambering onto the bed (oof – 90 pounds of “canine alarm
clock”!), giving them kisses, and pawing them to say, “Wake up!” My kids get the
giggles when they wake and always want him to sleep with them at night (which,
truthfully, has yet to happen, because Hunter likes to sleep near Ranger).
This fellow is ready to come home to a permanent family with children who can
play fetch with him, exercise with him, and most importantly, let him love on
them!
