Tessa
... This is Tessa! She is a sweet red girl who just wants someone to love and
play with. It's easy to fall in love with this goofy, loyal little girl. Of
course, she is still a puppy, so she needs consistent, firm guidance—but she’s a
very fast learner and aims to please.
Tessa loves to play fetch… she just hasn't learned to bring the item back! But
she really enjoys rope bones, Kongs, and anything she can carry around with to
play, play, play. She likes to be close; she sometimes brings her toys over to
me if I’m lying on the floor, then chews them while draping herself halfway on
top of me! She definitely thinks she is a lap dog and would appreciate someone
who will indulge her… thank goodness the vet says that she will be a small girl,
only about 40 pounds or so even when all grown up.
Tessa may be small, but she has big-dog energy. This lovable, rambunctious
sweetheart loves long walks, and needs them too! She is pretty good on the
leash, but needs more work regarding greeting people and other dogs—she just
gets so excited. The retriever in her comes out on walks; she loves to find
magnolia seedpods and carry them as she trots along.
Tessa is a bit wary of strangers, but relaxes once I tell her they are OK. She
doesn't bark very much, but she does make a funny yapping sound when she gets
really silly with her toys—I think she is trying to tell them who's boss. She is
a very happy girl; her tail wags incessantly! She also adores her reflection,
sitting down in front of mirrors, dishwashers, windows -- whatever will let her
admire her lovely self! This entertaining darling is sure to make anyone a
wonderful companion for many years to come.
