Bailey
Hi Potential Forever
Families:
Let me introduce myself! my name is Bailey, and my foster family says that my
name spells out just about everything you need to know about me:
B – Beautiful
A – Affectionate
I – Irresistible
L – Lovable
E – Energetic
Y – Yearning for my forever home.
My first family gave me up because they were just too busy to pay attention to
me, so they ended up leaving me alone in the yard a lot. Well, they knew that
wasn’t right, so they asked GRR to find someone who would be eager to make me
part of the family and accept all the love I have to give. My foster parents
have been great – they are happy to get all of my pent-up kisses and give me
nonstop petting. They say that’s what a Golden Retriever is for!
My beautiful red coat is soft and shiny, and I love to be brushed… in fact, I
often push my foster siblings, Katy and Bandit, out of the way when I see that
brush. I also love to take a nice bath (the longer the better, of course).
Each day my foster family goes for this thing called a walk. Katy and Bandit
wait for the signs, and as soon as the sneakers are tied, they go wild running
around in circles in preparation. Something called a leash goes on and away we
go. All of this is very confusing to a girl who mostly lived all her life in the
same yard looking at the same fence on all sides! I can’t quite figure out how
to walk attached to the “leash,” so I would rather lie down and watch the world
go by, or just play fetch with my ball. But I guess my foster Daddy is a
determined kind of guy (plus he got tired of carrying me home), so now it’s
short strolls to the mailbox and to visit the neighbors until I get the hang of
“going for a walk!” I must admit the wide world IS pretty interesting; I just
have to get used to things bit by bit.
My foster family introduced me to Kongs. Oh boy, I can entertain myself with
those even when the treats are gone inside. Did you know they bounce all over
the place when dropped on tile? It takes some fancy footwork to catch them.
I’ve only been here a few weeks, but I know that I have won my foster family’s
hearts. My foster Mommy was relaxing on the floor last Sunday and I came over
and plopped my body next to hers, rested my head on her tummy, and took a
snooze. Boy did this make her smile! I got lots of treats, and kisses on my
nose. Sometimes when I want attention, I even pretend to be a lapdog and attempt
to crawl into her lap for “one-on-one lovin’. ”
Just a quick list of some more of my virtues:
* I do not counter surf or beg for food at the table.
* I sleep through the night (except for a little snoring) at the foot of my
foster Mom’s bed so that I can be full of energy the next day.
* Of course, you heard that I am affectionate, but I am more than just good
looks and love…
* I am intelligent, too! Once I go to my forever home, I will show my new family
how quickly I can learn.
If I could choose my forever home, it would be filled with people and another
dog too, and everyone would like to run and play and give me unlimited kisses
and love! Does that sound like you? If yes, please give GRR a call!
