Forest...
My name is Forest and I am the luckiest dog in the world! I was saved from a hot
backyard and now I live in a nice cool palace. I have my very own house inside a
bigger house, and I have two foster parents—that’s FOUR hands!—to scratch my
head and rub my back. My foster mom says I am the happiest dog ever, and I AM
happy—but I think I will really be the happiest dog when I find my forever
family.
When I came to live in my foster home, I was a little nervous, since I had never
lived indoors and there was already another dog here. When my foster mom first
put me in my new crate, I didn’t really care for it, and said so—but she just
told me cheerfully that I would soon like it! So I gave up barking and decided I
probably should get used to my new “house.” Now I love it! I eat and sleep there
without any barking. My foster mom thinks that is fantastic. Then another thing
I have learned is that you can’t chew on just anything you find, like you can
when you live out in a backyard. Little did I know that when you live in a
house, you probably shouldn’t eat the humans’ shoes! My foster mom quickly
showed me that bones are to be chewed and not shoes. I do occasionally slip up
if I am not watched, but I remember very quickly when she gives me that stern
look.
I love to go on long walks and runs so that I can sleep well at night. I love
being on a leash and I don’t pull at all, unless I see another dog I want to
play with. My foster brother and I get along well, though sometimes I can be a
little pushy. It’s just that I haven’t had this much loving before and I want as
much as I can get. But I’m learning there’s always enough to go around! The
other thing my foster parents want me to work on is my jumping habit. Sometimes
I just get so excited I don’t know what to do, so I jump. I am trying hard to
say “hello” with all four feet on the ground.
My foster parents love that I love to watch TV, especially “Animal Planet,” and
that I don’t bother them when they are eating or cooking. They think I am very
handsome, too!
Anyway, I can’t wait to find my forever home. I have so much love to give and
receive! Will you be my new parents?
