Eddu
(rhymes with “sea-doo”)—that’s “Eddie” in English—was born in Peru and came to
the U.S. at the age of one to find his perfect family. In Texas, he lived in the
country on a llama farm, where he enjoyed a refreshing fruit salad for breakfast
every morning and then played outside until suppertime. But Eddu was becoming an
escape artist, so his loving but very busy owner decided he needed someone who
could spend more time with him. And here he is!
Eddu has just turned three, but if you didn’t know his age, you’d probably guess
he was much younger… not because of his looks, but thanks to his happy,
friendly, “let's play,” rambunctious behavior. Eddu is a doggie steam engine, a
riot to live with, and definitely NOT for the prim and proper!
Eddu loves people, running, toys, going for walks, playing ball, and water—and
would like all of this daily! His foster home is on 4 acres and he makes full
use of it! As you can see by his photos, he enjoys an occasional dip in the
pool, and of course he tops it off with a roll in the grass… OR dirt,
whatever... No matter that it’s not a five-star hotel, he has fun no matter
where—just as long as people are there, too. Eddu is super sociable, loves
attention, and wants nothing more than to be with you, and that makes him a joy
to train. He wants to please you.
Currently Eddu is walking on a loose leash on a Halti and accepts it
beautifully. He has also improved in his loose leash walking without the Halti.
He in the process of perfecting lots of commands: coming when called; “down”;
“sit”; “wait” at the door; and “give.” He is housebroken and crate trained, and
has good house manners... unless he has just come in from a vigorous run and
goes to get a drink of water.... oooooops! just keep that mop handy!
Eddu plays well with other dogs, but he’s a bit TOO interested in my cat… he
approaches her like he does everything else, with gusto! She simply avoids him.
He is fine during storms and sleeps well all night, then gets up when we do. He
enjoys taking a bath (well, he loves water!).
Eddu is looking for a home with owners who will exercise him, establish a
leadership role, and continue to work on his training. He is a happy, happy dog
and a love!
