Hank
Ten-month-old Hank is a big lover boy: he is very generous with kisses and loves
every bit of attention he can get! He used to be an outside dog, but he’s loving
the indoor life and making the transition to a happy house dog with great
success. He’s doing great with his crate training, and he’s catching on to
housebreaking very nicely.
Hank loves going for neighborhood walks and car rides; he’s very calm for such a
youngster and just lies down in the back seat after a few minutes. He gets along
great with our Golden puppy Maggie, who is just one month younger than he is:
they can play like gangbusters. When they’re romping around, Hank makes a noise
that sounds like Chewbacca the Wookie from “Star Wars” – it’s hilarious and
everybody loves it! He enjoys playing on the first step of our inground pool,
but so far he’s not a swimmer – he’s only got as far as dipping his nose and
front paws into the water.
He delights in barking at our cats (I think he may have chased cats in his
previous life), but they mostly ignore him. He’ll also bark to let us know if
someone is walking by or coming to the door, but otherwise he’s not too vocal.
He does do some casual counter surfing to see if anything tasty might be just
about to fall to the floor (well, OK, he might give it a little help!), and he
also likes to take a peek into the walk-in pantry, just in case something
interesting is available in there.
Everyone who has visited since he has been here loves Hank. He’s only been with
us a short time, but we’ll sure miss him when he goes! He is a true charmer, and
he’ll make any active family a wonderful pet.
