Honey In the middle of July, officers
summoned to the scene of an eviction found something unexpected: a frightened
Golden mom and her five brand-new pups. Just 2 or 3 days old, the puppies
weighed under a pound each and still had their eyes tightly closed. The little
family was taken to the shelter – but that’s no place for new puppies, so they
moved to a GRR foster home that very day.
Honey
is probably about 7 years old, and her foster mom reports she’s an
excellent mother taking tender care of her babies. She is housebroken and very
quiet and soft-natured—a little bit shy of new things, but not afraid at all of
storms! She is eating well and has lots of milk for the pups.
And as for those pups … ! Well, here you see them at just three days old, but we
hope to have new pictures up soon – their eyes are open, now! They look all
Golden to us at this young age, but since Daddy was probably a traveling man,
it’s hard to say for certain. They’re so little that we haven’t given them names
yet – they just go by the color of the little rick-rack collars they’ve been
wearing to help us tell them apart. There are three boys (Mr. Blue, Mr. Green,
and Mr. Red) and two little girls (Miss Pinkie and Miss Violet).
Are you ready to welcome a puppy or a young mother into your home in about 6
weeks’ time? That’s when the puppies will be big enough to leave their mother,
and at that point Miss Honey will be spayed and be ready for a new home herself,
as well. (And that gives you plenty of time to puppy-proof the new baby’s room,
get the crate set up, invest in lots of puppy chew toys, and so on.) If you are
eager for some puppy love, submit your application today!
