Shelby... Hi! My name is Shelby, and I’m so happy GRR rescued me. My previous owners didn’t have enough time for me, so they gave me to the shelter—and then GRR came to the rescue. I have been living at my foster family’s home for about a month, and though I don’t want to brag, I can tell you—I’m an angel! And don’t just take my word for it: I’ve heard my foster parents whisper that they might trade in one of their two less angelic GRs in exchange for me.

I am so happy to be living here that I wiggle with delight when my foster mom and dad come home from work. I am full of love and give many kisses. I was a little scrawny when I came here, so my family is making sure I get plenty of good food. I probably weigh a modest 50 lbs. I am a long-legged girl with pretty gold fur. Lots of GRs have a purple or black spot on their tongues, and I do, too—a really big one that just about covers my tongue. That can take people by surprise—but no doubt about it, I am a true Golden!

I have been learning about playing with my foster siblings, Robyn and Logan. Robyn and I are close in age and we love to play and chase each other around the backyard. We even steal each other’s Nylabones when we get the chance. Logan is a bit older and not so playful. I keep trying to engage him, but he’d rather nap.

Oh, did I mention that I’m great with kids and cats? I got to spend an afternoon with a family with little children, and they said I was just perfect. I even kept the 2-year-old girl company while she was in time-out! I, of course, never have to go to time-out, because I’m such a good girl. I am crate-trained but have proven myself a model citizen and now have free run of the house. I haven’t destroyed one thing or had an accident in the house, and I’m really great about going potty right away when I go outside.

I really am quite a catch, and I’m patiently waiting for my forever family. I have no health issues and I’m youthful without being too much puppy, and I figure that makes me one of the most eligible GRs out there. I just might be the special dog you’ve been waiting for!
