ADOPTED

Kassy... Hi! My name is Kassy and I am an ingénue (just 10 months old!) on the “fast track adoption program” with Gold Ribbon Rescue. As you can see by my many photos, I am a slim, gorgeous redhead.

My foster mom calls me “Kassy the Kowgirl” because I am a true country girl. I’m always trying to wrangle up some fun with my foster parents, my foster sisters, my foster cats, or even the household appliances! I love to chase the vacuum cleaner and have fun in all that I do.

Being a true Golden, I am of course passionate about tennis balls and WATER! I think I was a mermaid in my former life because I feel like a fish out of water. You see, as a country “Kowgirl” I had my very own stock tank to swim in. Now that I’m at my foster home I can’t seem to get enough water action. I’m in the birdbath. I’m in the sprinkler. I lie down in the grass with the water flowing over and around me, and I can’t seem to get enough of that H2O. My mom has tried to stop some of my water antics. Plopping my feet in the inside water bowl was a bit much for her!—so I am in training to try to refrain from some of these antics if they are in poor taste (by human standards, that is!). Oh, would I love to have a home where I could go swimming all the time. All you need is a towel by the back door and one by the water bowl, and all problems are solved in the way of messiness. It’s really quite manageable once you get the drill!

As for behavior, I’m a very good girl. I sleep all night in my foster parents’ bedroom and if they are gone for a couple of hours, I’m crated. I don’t mind at all. I am easily led in with a peanut butter kong. I do the commands “sit” and “down.” I would love to go to formal obedience training so I could bond with my new family and have impeccable manners as I become a nice young lady. I don’t counter-surf, and my foster mom say I’m great for a 10-month-old pup.

I am also learning to become a great outfielder. How about it, kids? Do you need another member on your Little League team or a summer swimming companion?

I think an active family with another dog, maybe even a cat or two, and some children would be my summer’s dream come true.

One other thing I’d like to tell you. Unlike lots of Goldens, I am not a “chow hound.” I am eating light right now—I don’t want to get all bulked up and unable to move. I don’t beg, and I’m not obnoxious when you’re at the dinner table.

I’m a nice girl looking for a nice family to call my own. I’m up for the challenge. Let’s make a deal and have the best summer you can imagine. I’ll be your “forever dog” if you’ll be my “forever family!”
