Remembered

Max... Are you looking for a beautiful blond bombshell? If so, I am your man! I am a grown-up gentleman (9 years old), not a crazy puppy, and I have impeccable manners. My original family loved me so much, but they just couldn’t take care of me anymore. My first mom cried when she said goodbye, but she knew I needed a better life than she could give me…. so I came to GRR. Right now I live with two other Goldens—a younger sister, and a brother my age. We all get along great, playing, napping, serving as vicious guard dogs... you know, the usual stuff! My foster mom even walks us all at the same time, if you can believe that! (She says that she can do this because I am so good on a leash—not to brag or anything.) I don’t get on the furniture or the beds, I have never counter-surfed (or at least been caught), nor do I potty in the house (who would do such a thing??). OK, OK, I have to admit, I am not perfect—I was caught excavating a small hole yesterday in the backyard, but promptly stopped when mom said “NO.” Dad tells me that I snore, but you should hear him at night—I’ve got nothing on him!! I love cheese and peanut butter, but to tell the truth I am on a little diet to shed just a few extra pounds, so mom feeds me steamed veggies every night and I love those, too.

In my first home, I lived with kids and five cats. I loved those children! They even used me as a pillow when they were watching TV. Now as for the cats… well, if they gave me a mean look I bowed down and got out of the way. If they wanted to be the big bosses, that was OK by me. Mostly I just ignored them.

I am a bit hard of hearing, but if you really speak up when you talk to me, I am always ready to pay attention. I get kind of stiff when the weather changes and first thing in the morning, but I am taking glucosamine and losing weight and getting exercise, and it’s all helping! I am mellow, and just enjoy going with the flow. I don’t ask for much, except some love every now and then. Oh yeah, I have this tuft of hair on top of my head that sticks straight up, that my foster mom says is “cute.”

So that’s the story! If you are looking for a loving, calm boy who will get along with everyone, please come and meet me.
