ADOPTED

Jackson My name is Jackson and I am an extremely handsome, big, one-year-old boy (and modest, too!). I recently became a Gold Ribbon Rescue dog and am looking for my forever home. In the meantime I am spending time with my foster family and it sure is fun. Wow! In addition to my foster mom and dad I have two other Goldens to buddy around with. I spent lots of time in my former home with miniature-size humans, whom I loved, but this is so totally cool too. I really, really like playing with my foster brother, who is just as big as me, and my foster sister, who is so fast and clever.

Speaking of clever, while I was growing to my current 75-pound status, I had some time on my paws and learned that if I threw my head back just so, I could flip my ear flap back over my head. And when I got good at it I could flip both ear flaps back at once. I sure look proud of myself when I can walk around with both ears flipped back. I am also proud to say that I have the softest mouth on the canine planet. I’ll take a treat or a hand in the gentlest way. And I do like my treats, any way I can get them. So you see, you can train me to do all sorts of things, just keep those treats coming my way.

When I am not hanging out with my foster buddies, I’ll hang out in my crate just fine. In fact my foster mom and dad had to borrow a crate because the normal crate they had for me was just too small. When you can’t sit up without bumping your head or stretch out without bumping against the ends of the crate you feel kind of cramped. So they had to “super size” me a crate from GRR. Now I am all comfy in my crate. Sometimes I get so comfy I just lie on my back with all four paws in the air and snooze away.

I guess I am just a big, playful puppy. My foster mom has been calling me a Peter Pan, but hey, there is plenty of time to be a grown-up dog. At least I have learned to do a nice sit, walk on a leash, and not jump up on humans. Oh, I may think about jumping up, but then I think again and decide it is not such a good idea. I have also decided that I do not want to be a lapdog, as those human laps are just too small now. I do have my grown-up moments though. Every night I peacefully sleep all through the night in my crate. And then, in the morning, I am up and ready to play!

I just need a lot of love and I promise to return it in great amounts. I know I am going to make some active family a fabulous pet. Are you going to be my forever family?
