ADOPTED

Sesame!

My name is Sesame and I am a very handsome fella - at least that's what everyone says. Personally, I think I am the perfect goldie, because when the sun shines on me I look like I am pure gold. My foster parents always say I am a good dog, so I must be doing something right. I had a couple of accidents in the house the first two days I was here, but since then I have been very good and no more accidents. I don't counter surf, although once I did try some of those dried flowers I found on the dresser but they sure didn't taste as good as they looked. I also tried out my foster mom's gardening shoes, but she told me that that was bad, so I haven't done it since and thankfully she wasn't to mad at me.

I have a foster goldie brother named Sam. We love to play in the backyard and go for long walks in the park. I haven't mastered heeling yet, but I try very hard to behave and not pull. Sam told me that mom won't walk us in the park if we pull too much. Riding in the car to the park is fun because I can put my head out the window and let the wind blow my ears back.

There are also three cats in my foster home. The first day I was there I tried to get a little too friendly with one of the cats and got smacked. That's gratitude for you -- I was just trying to clean his ears for him! Now I behave very well around them, except sometimes Sam and I will give one of them a little chase just to remind the cats who's bigger.

When my foster parents have to go somewhere they give Sam and me a kong filled with crunchies and peanut butter. Yummy! I also like to chew on my Nylabone and play ball. Sam and I like to hide our parents' shoes in the house. Sam said it's OK as long as we don't chew the shoes. It's pretty funny to watch them looking for a matching pair of shoes when they want to go out. But when mom looks for her walking shoes we know it's time for the park so we try to find them for her.

I don't sleep in a crate but I did try the couch a couple of times. I don't think anyone found out about it though. Most nights I sleep next to my foster parents' bed. There was one stormy night when I jumped onto the bed to sleep because I really, really don't like thunderstorms.

I really do like it here very much, but I would like a forever family of my own. I am pure gold inside and out.

Note from GRR: Our Sesame was rescued from the TLAC and unfortunately whoever cared for him before that didn't provide him with heartworm protection and he is heartworm positive at this time. The family that adopts Sesame will need to see him through his heartworm treatment, which we will set up for you with one of our wonderful GRR vets. And, we'll provide all the information and guidance you need to bring him to 100% health. If you need more information about heartworm treatment, please give us a call. Sesame is waiting.
