Bailey, 8 year old.  Hello! My name is Bailey, and I’ve already seen something of the world—I was born in Germany and came all the way to Texas as a little puppy. My family loved me, but a few months ago my mom ran into some health trouble and just couldn’t take care of me any longer. She asked GRR to find me a new family to smother me with hugs and love. And of course the answer was, “That shouldn’t be too hard!”

Shake paws with me and pet me, and I’m in heaven. My foster mom says I thrive on attention, and that I am an amazingly good girl with impeccable manners. I have been careful not to have any accidents in the house—not one! I don’t climb on the furniture and I don’t bother anything in the house when she is gone. And I know that my reward for being such a model dog is a treat when she comes home!

I sleep in my crate all night—with the door open—and I wait to get up until my foster mom gets out of bed, too. After all, a golden girl needs all the beauty sleep she can get! I like having my own private “bedroom,” and I go in and out of it all day—the crate door is always open, so I can come and go at will. I love to walk in the park or just sit by my person’s side and breathe the fresh air… that is, unless I take the notion to chase a cat or two! I did have two cats in my last family and they just fascinate me. I don’t hurt them—I just like to play with them.

When we have company I get so excited! That’s because I really love people, especially if they pet me. I accompany our visitors to the door when they leave and say goodbye by wagging my tail, and I don’t try to escape out the door either. My foster mom didn’t know I could bark for the first week because I was shy. Then I discovered I could bark once in the backyard and other dogs in the yard next to me would bark back. I love to tell the other dogs “hello” but I don’t see the need for long conversations. After all, I’m busy sniffing and exploring.

I am an obedient dog. I respond to commands such as “good dog,” “no,” “sit,” “down,” and “night-night.” The vet says I am in excellent health. She loved on me too, and said I would make someone very happy. If you want a loving companion, I’m your gal!
