ADOPTED
Cassie is a sweet,
sweet girl who comes to us as a stray from the Town Lake Animal Center. She is a
gorgeous redhead with beautiful gold eyes and, right at the moment, a pleasingly
plump figure: she weighs in at a comfy 88 pounds, but we’re working on getting
her down to around the 75- to 78-pound mark.
We don’t know much about Cassie’s past, but she sure does love being an inside
girl! She follows us wherever we go and wags her tail endlessly if a pet or hug
comes her way. She loves to be loved on. She might have spent some time on the
streets, as she eats and drinks as if this chance might be her last. We laugh at
the trail of water that follows her when she leaves the water bowl. Grace may
not be the best middle name for her!
Cassie is a very youthful 6 year old! She likes to play with balls and Nylabones
and will throw them up in the air and catch them herself. She entertains herself
very well, but she loves to play with people, too—she is a great retriever, and
she’ll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. She is very
good at settling down with a good Nylabone. She loves to play “steal that bone”
with our dog, Robyn—the two of them go back and forth stealing each other’s
bone.
Cassie has also found out how much fun it can be to have other dogs around. She
was timid at first, but has figured out how to play/wrestle with our other two
Goldens. She’s very good about going into her crate when we are gone, and a
little treat makes it that much better. She eagerly greets us when we come home
and will put her paw on you to remind you to keep petting her. Another great
thing about this girl is that we’ve barely heard a peep out of her--she hardly
barks! Even with the doorbell ringing and trick-or-treaters, we got maybe one
tiny half-bark.
Cassie is full of life and love and is ready for her forever home. She is loyal
and steadfast and will make some lucky family very happy!
